Members of the United Methodist Men strive:

  • To encourage knowledge of and support for the total mission of The United Methodist Church
  • To engage in evangelism by sharing the fullness of the gospel in its personal and social dimensions
  • To clarify and speak to the identity and role of the men in contemporary society
  • To seek commitment to discipleship
  • To study and become familiar with The United Methodist Church, its organization, doctrines, and beliefs
  • To cooperate with all units of United Methodist Men in obtaining these objectives through district, conference, jurisdiction, and church-wide goals.

The General Commission on United Methodist Men (GCUMM) challenges all United Methodist Men charter units to:

1. Make a commitment to Spiritual Growth of Every Man in the local church

2. Make a call for a few men in every church to support and encourage pastors through prayer and service

3. Make a call and equip all men to have at least one godly friend with whom he is accountable as a disciple of Christ and to encourage men to build friendships across racial and cultural lines

4. Declare young people our new mission field, and call and equip adults to lead young people into authentic Christian adulthood

We encourage each individual to:

1. Engage daily in Bible Study.

2. Bear witness to Christ's way in daily work and in all personal contacts through words and actions.

3. Engage in some definite Christian service.
