Witness Team
Basic Responsibilities
-
Develop and implement plans for a witness outreach to the community.
-
Welcome visitors and share the faith of Jesus Christ, particularly with those who are unchurched, and invite them to join our congregation living out the good news of God’s love.
Ongoing Responsibilities
-
Work with pastors and staff in assessing the congregation’s vital statistics related to attendance and membership growth in which new people are received into the congregation and empowered for ministry.

Encourage God’s will for the congregation’s future and set goals consistent with that vision.

Develop plans to reach out to persons and to welcome them into the congregation in a way that fosters individual spiritual growth.
Members and How They Are Chosen
-
There are currently nine members on the team with five people completing their term at the end of 2004.
-
The Committee on Lay Leadership seeks people to serve on the team for a three year term. Recommendations are approved by the Congregational Charge Conference held annually.
-
People may serve more than one term on the team.

The
Team meets monthly - typically the third Tuesday at 7 pm in the Mrs.
Wilson's Room.
