Rev. David M. Palmer On Sunday, September 10, 2006, Rev. Palmer's sermon was entitled "Here We Are, Here We Go." The text of this sermon is available for download by clicking on the title of the sermon. You may also click on this link to listen to the audio version of Rev. Palmer's "Here We Are, Here We Go" sermon from the 9:30 service. A word of explanation from Rev. Palmer While I put this sermon together to preach in its entirety, it became clear during the 8:00 am service that this sermon was too long. In the midst of the service I delete some of what I wrote. At both the 9:30 am and SonSpirit (11:00am) services, I shortened it some more. I also at times interject things as the spirit moves me. So there may be something on the audio that is not in the manuscript. Secondly. Since I gave this sermon, upon self reflection, I realized there was more I would like to say about what a great church is like other than numbers. I don’t think I addressed the qualitative difference very well. I will be attempting to speak to this aspect on our commitment Sunday, October 22, 2006. Once again we will be having only three worship services, all in the sanctuary. The 11:00 am will be a blended liturgical/SonSpirit. The reason being, Heritage Hall will be set up for our Ministry Fair. The sermon title that morning is:
“We ask you—urge is more like it—that you keep on doing what we told you to do to please God, not in a dogged religious plod, but in a living, spirited dance.” 1 Thessalonians 4:1 The Message Eugene Peterson
